Exhaust, cooling, friction & Radiation is the energy that can not be converted into mechanical energy is rated as losses in energy conversion processes.

Motor fuel is the first mover that converts the chemical energy of fuel into thermal energy (heat) by combustion, the heat is then converted into mechanical power
